Intelect Medical is developing proprietary deep brain stimulation (DBS) therapies and technology to improve the outcome for patients with neurological disorders and disabilities.

We have been working with world-renowned scientists and clinicians to develop and commercialize these promising new innovations.  Concurrently, development is underway on a novel DBS system that is envisioned to provide significant improvements in stimulation delivery and parameter optimization.

Intelect Medical was founded in April 2005 based on intellectual property developed at Cleveland Clinic's Center for Neurological Restoration and its Lerner Research Department of Biomedical Engineering.  Shortly thereafter, exclusive license to key patents was secured from Weill-Cornell Medical College’s Laboratory for Cognitive Neuromodulation.  Commercialization efforts, including pre-clinical research, clinical feasibility trials, and system development have progressed considerably.  Intelect has raised $11.25M in equity financing from strategic investors, Boston Scientific and Greatbatch, to fund this work.
