Programming Software

Intelect is developing GUIDE™ DBS based on the work of Dr. Cameron McIntyre at the Cleveland Clinic. GUIDE DBS is a novel, tablet PC-based visual programming system for DBS devices designed to allow clinicians to plan the programming of DBS patients.  GUIDE DBS allows a clinician to quickly visualize the lead location relative to anatomical targets, see the stimulation field model (SFM) created by the chosen parameter settings relative to the anatomical structures of the patient.

Intelect is also developing DBS Leads with Accupoint® Technology.  As opposed to traditional DBS leads which stimulate 360° radially around the lead, Intelect’s DBS Leads with Accupoint Technology allow a clinician to direct the current rotationally around the lead via independent contacts evenly spaced circumferentially around the lead.  This allows the clinician to provide a targeted stimulation field for each specific patient.

Therapies

Intelect Medical is focused on advancing deep brain stimulation (DBS) therapy for improving the recovery of chronic Stroke and Traumatic Brain injury (TBI) patients.  The goal of these innovative therapies is to provide neurorehabilition specialists with additional treatment options to improve and accelerate recovery for Stroke and TBI patients.  Intelect Medical’s proprietary therapies for brain injury patients are covered by our therapy brand name - Enspire™ DBS Therapy.  These two therapies are in the pre-clinical and clinical research stage.
